Movies--------->nigerian movies

Movie reviews.
Back to Nigerian home videos, I love watching Nigerian movies not necessarily cuz most of them are lame but because in some of the stupidity you get a few lessons… I seem to have watched a number of Yoruba movies and I must add in as much there’s not one without a babalowo being consulted they seem to make more sense than their English counterparts….Take a good look at the comedy in them when babasuwe and Jenifa did “BABA JAIYE JAIYE” (shake it baby shake it baby old fool, shake it baby shake it baby monster) or Funke Akindele’s JENIFA, I have never till date seen any English movie match up to that, an English movie comedy must have Aki and paw paw in it or Okey bakasi or this Mr ibu, how can I forget Nkem owoh(Osufia in London) and the truth is that these people are not funny as in won tie bosi(they don’t make it)…The problem with Nigerian movies in general most times the English ones is that they use the same old people for the same old thing personally I think there should be variation,,,,if u give me a movie that has Kanayo .O. Kanayo I know in the movie if he is not using his body part for ritual he is using his whole family and like wise Jim Iyke with his American boy wannabe swagger which most times doesn’t cut it, there should be versatility in the sense that you cant really know what a person can do if you keep the person stereotyped, one person I admire though not necessarily a big fan of her’s is Genevieve Nnaji she cuts across every role from being a Bitch to be a young girl in love, to being a mother and wife she puts it all into play and has a calm demeanor about it which makes it look surreal same with a Joke and Olu Jacobs, Rmd and these are the very few in the industry among an atom of others that are able to diversify…. I hear and have seen that Jenifa two is around and am wondering what for??????, from my own point of view its going or how I think the part two would be” Jenifa would turn a new leaf and find a way to manage the hiv, maybe tush herself up abroad, the other girl that was smelling would be able to find a cure for her anus..lwkmd, then the other one who turned a new leaf first would be able to bear children..Maybe gbogbo bigs girl would be caught when shes trafficking the girls because to me I really don’t see the essence of a part 2…One movie I highly recommend is irapada the director Kunle Afolayan I must admit tries a lot, he shoots with celluloide abi is it cellulite not 35mm, and he is very good I have watched the part one very good story line and just haven’t had the time to watch part two, I suggest u get ur copy, another from this director is figurine(I have seen the preview and he tried) In as much as Nigerian movie industy churns out movies by the second that are equally stupid by the second there are a few sensible ones among them and we should encourage these people by buying the “original copies” to reduce piracy because its killing the market.........

just saying

I was talking to my dad yesterday and I must admit he is a clown, cant remember the topic or line of thought and the next thing I heard him say was ‘TI E BA E DOT COM”.. meaning ur own don catch you(am still laughing) to me it was just too funny I was practically rolling on the floor with laughter and then I actually thought about what the statement meant, it just funny how we can think up some sentences…but then there is no place like Naija….
Here are a few:
1.Omugo long form for the word mumu(my friend told me something and i think I was acting like a jjc and the next thing he and he said…”OMUGO GOES TO SCHOOL”…I had never felt so stupid…..

2.Am on to the next p.

3.If ur still doing that one,ur on a long thing.

4.Soldier go,soldier come barracks no dey move

Nigerian IDOLS

Am so excited that this is finally here and as u guessd its the NIGERIANNNNNNNNNNN IDOLSSSS "HAPPY DANCE",i cant wait to see various voices and genres of music being appreciated

This year, Optima Media Group (OMG) has acquired the license to produce and air the IDOLS reality show format throughout Nigeria and Pan Africa with the sole aim to produce a true talented international artiste.

Just like the premise of the original show, Pop Idol, Nigerian Idol is a television reality show with a nation-wide search for Nigeria’s next solo superstar, which will offer one young talent the opportunity that raw talented singers have until now, only dreamed of. Nigerian Idol aims to find the best singer in the country who can be defined as the “National” singer, and International Artiste.

One contestant will win a top quality management deal, and a recording contract with an international record label, setting them on the path to stardom; a path to fame and fortune, and above all - an opportunity to finally fulfil their life-long dreams. In July, applications will be made available to talented singers across Nigeria, aged between 16-28 to audition for the chance to be the next 2face Idibia, Alicia Keys, Asa, Rihanna, Darey or Neyo.

A panel of four judges, made up of some of the music industry’s most influential experts, will be faced with the daunting prospect of choosing 50 talented singers to face the viewing public who will decide, in a series of live shows, who most deserves the chance of stardom. This 50 hopefuls will be set tasks to prove that they have got the musical talent to make it in one of the world’s fastest-growing and most competitive music industries. The winner will be chosen after a live show in which the final two contestants sing to the nation in the hope of clinching the prize that will change their lives forever. Nigerian Idol will be aired both on cable and terrestrial television across Nigeria.

“We are currently solidifying relationships with major television networks in Nigeria and other African countries, as well as in Europe and the United States,” said Chichi Nwoko, deputy director International Sponsorship & Sales for OMG. “Music is a universal language, and we believe that Nigeria is a hub for music talent. With Nigerian Idol, we are dedicated to showing the world that we ready to cross over into the international music scene. Nigerian Idol will produce the Next Big International Star.”

On his part, Rotimi Pedro, managing director of OMG, said: “We are aware that there is skepticism among the local entertainment press about Nigerian Idol as singing contests are common in local television, with recent ones branded as Idol knockoffs. However, we can assure you that this is the real deal. As licensed right owners, our company has a responsibility to comply with the original format structure and production owned by Fremantle. Hence, we will not compromise on production quality and deliverables.”

Nigerians and Nigerian time...

I am actually very burnt, why is it that we Nigerians never keep to time i don't get this idiotic fad of being fashionably late,to everything(meetings, school, kids and even sex(OK well concerning this one you have to take your time,so its excused) it makes no flipping sense to me.... Take for instance you have a meeting with your boss at 10pm agreed its a bit awkward for meetings and then stupid you thinks he/she not going to show up or he/she is going to come in late and you keep calling his cell phone after 30mins to find out if he is in the restaurant or wherever you are supposed to have the meeting, WO i will so slap the lateness out of your body but since its so wrong i would tell you to flip off you don't deserve a job let alone in my company... OK i know am sounding a bit harsh but its the truth Nigeria and Nigerians will and i emphasize the word WILL never move forward if we keep doing this fashionably late thing in as much as it is annoying it is downright rude and disrespectful...we always cry that people are giving the country a bad name, in as much as they should not be judgemental, e jo eje ka pa maro,(lets call a spade a spade) we are not doing ourselves any good let alone the country at large(u even turn up late to the airport cuz ur flying first class rubbish the plane never leave you that's why) pls pls pls let us strive to make ourselves better for the generation behind us in so doing we make the country better... Nd this is to all working with me and would soon start so that its not like am harsh or anything,u know how much i detest lateness so y'all better get ur asses to work and kai kai.....
BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN OTHERS

RELOADED

One Naija film i cant seem to get enough of is RELOADED by Nigerias very own female director Emem isong..The movie is like the remake of Why did I get married by Tyler Perry and popular Games men play... But this is with a different twist and the actors and actresses are top notch, they include Nigerias sultry queen Rita Dominic, Woman on top Stephanie Okereke, very pretty Ini Edo-Ehigwina,Upcoming ice queen Nse -Ikpe Etim,Ramsey Noauh, Van Vicker, Desmond elliot to mention a few... Its talks about different aspects of relationships and infidelity...
If you haven't watched i suggest you get a copy.

Home made entertainment one

This is a continuation of homemade entertainment unleashed and am so excited.Anyways back to the business of the day.... Nigerian entertainment industry and its various intricases less formal Home made entertainment jist...
Growing up,i have always loved entertainment(lights, camera, cheeessse) and having a father who works in the advertising world also sparked my interest,he was always reeling in ideas big or small and always thought of different ways to do a particular thing and this developed my interest in colors, acting and events management ... I have done countless adverts(OK i can count them sha), stage plays(this was my major in college)it allowed me express myself, brought out the "Ms endowed" and really allowed me find myself and passion(i acted in a couple but managed and directed quite a few which include:THE GROOM SAID NO,MAN TALK WOMAN TALK,WOMEN OF OWU.....e.t.c i have come to find out that i prefer being behind the scenes,it actually gives me great pleasure and utmost satisfaction seeing the joy on peoples faces when they watch my shows and commend the effort put in it,its humbling*tear drop*.... Project management is another passion of mine, i love handling the pressure of events and what not...its so cool and trust me i love to waka so getting this ready and instruments, the stage, the calls and the "ATTENTION"... na small thing
Enough of ms eNDOwed, the Nigerian entertainment world is second to none in fact we re second in the world(why do i feel that was dry) YENI!!!!Hehe.. Its amazing how we have evolved over the years from village headmasters, cock crow @ dawn, mirror in the sun, checkmate and how can i forget MIND YOUR LANGUAGE to mention a few now we have the likes of JENI BABY(SULIAT KAN,AYETORO KAN), Girls cot, Keeping faith,Reloaded,Guilty pleasures etc... The people have evolved from days of dungarees, clogs, pedal pushers(this is from my mama) to tank tops nd shorts, lil cute dresses,Plimsoles, drivers and most definetly hair, back then it was about being natural but now if u dont have at least two brazilians, an aunty funmi hair, an indian and most def OUR EVEr CHOPPING FRONT HAIR"LACE WIG"Thou must not call thee a Gidi bigs babe...lwkmd.... fashionistas screaming everywhere with their designs(impressive i must add) and models clamouring for shots.. We had the likes of Madam Kofo then we moved on to the pete edochies,Bruno iwoha,Liz benson,Jide kosoko, kenneth okonkwo(not to say they aren't around) now we have the likes of Genevieve Nnaji, Stella Damasus,Jim iyke,Omotola,Tonto Dike,Ini Edo, Rita Dominic,Femi Brainard, Femi Branch,Mike Ezuronye..to mention a few and you tend to look back and wonder if this new era of the movie industry is matching up to the era before or if their far gone putting into consideration morals, acting skills(delivery of roles)e.t.c am a bit overwhelmed so am going to stop here and allow you make your observations, comments and advice on ways of improving Ms ENDowed

Relationships

LET ME START EDUCATIONALLY....An intimate relationship is a particularly close interpersonal relationship,It can be defined by these characteristics: enduring behavioral interdependence, repeated interactions, emotional attachment, and need for fulfillment.
Intimate relationships play a central role in the overall human experience. Humans have a universal need to belong and to love which is satisfied when an intimate relationship is formed.Intimate relationships consist of the people that we are attracted to, whom we like and love, romantic and sexual relationships, and those whom we marry, provide for, receive emotional and personal support from.
Just like i love good food,i love relationships, the act of falling in love well standing in it is just beautiful but then i don't necessarily have the patience for it(sometimes i want to be left alone and other times i just want to cuddle up, run in the sand together, count the stars and just be in his arms(wherever he is),in as much as i love PDA'S and the romantic getaways and the fact that i expect him to know at every point in time what i want, how and when i want it and is quite worrisome and that has caused some to label me "HIGH MAINTENANCE" but i guess they were not wrong but that was in the PAST OH,PAST EMPHASIZED OH!!!But a girl needs somethings sometimes, i believe if u have been in a relationship for a while you should know what ur girl or guy wants ,i don't think presents are meant for birthdays, valentines day or whatever celebration you consider major, why don't u send her flowers on a Tuesday morning, watch the match with him and actually be interested, talk about the economy and its varieties, follow her to nail studio to get her manicure and pedicure done and you can get yours done as well, holding her while shes saying some very personal stuff that mean so much to her and just letting her know ur there, but then again you don't know whose true r whose isn't but as they say life is worth taking risks for u never know where ur" Mr right" is and his is a statement of fact coined from the proverbial books of Ms Omoyeni Disu... "THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS MR OR MS RIGHT, ITS YOUR IMPERFECTIONS THAT MAKE YOU PERFECT FOR EACH OTHER"....Am still praying to God everyday to make me the woman my husband wants but then in as much as i give God my specifics for a man i tell him always"Lord i want a gift from you"....
I tend to think that if i end up running a relationship advice and consultancy firm,i would be the most reputable in the industry not that am boasting but then i just feel that advices i give are second to none and they have worked for various people so guys ladies if you need advice u know how to contact your favorite blogger...m outta here...xo

Weddings,Me and Nigeria....

Weddings weddings weddings....@ some point in my life i was addicted to it, checking out wedding websites like it was going out of fashion, to say that that i was ready for my wedding and all that was left was the groom will be an understatement, to the extent that i couldn't go for an hour without chirping in on this wedding website or how lovely a bride looks or the fact that i wanted 20 bridesmaids and 20groomsmen(totaling 40) i know sey u think i dey craze but then again a girls got dreams and fantasies..I know for my wedding i want it to be big with the whole feferity, me dancing in to the reception with dbanj live with "fall in Love" and my groom by my side chei Omoyeni oh!!!! and then the fact that i didn't want to be in my wedding dress all day @ the reception, i and hubby would later change into polo shirts with inscription of bride and groom on it and we would dance in again to MR ENDOWED TOH BADDDD!!!!! LWKMD sometimes i crack myself up but all these are possible abi ki le fill???? But as i grew over the years and having talks with friends , family and people alike i found out that i was only ready for my wedding not for my marriage and that is a MAJOR DISASTER but then again with the society around, magazines even parties and weddings i attended and still attend its all about the feferity not to say there is no love involved but how much is involved in everything..Nowadays its all about whose wedding had the best souvenirs, which musician welcomed you in, who was at your wedding, how much your wedding dress cost, the carat tunde or Lamide put on ur finger, the chairman of the occassion, where the honey moon is going to be....After all said and done, the bachelorette parry @ D Marquee is over, honeymoon and the cake from CAKES AND CREAM is done and u don shit am finish.... Going into the KOKO of the matter and you begin to ask AM I REALLY ENDOWED?????Marriage isnt your mtn 1500 recharge card or the the Hip hop awards that lasts for a night, its the real deal..So when we are bout to ask wifey to marry you in the over elaborate proposal(i love lovely proposals sha) and ur about to say yes Lagos bigs girl..ponder for a bit and ask yourself am i getting married because i really love him or because all my friends are getting married,i don do bridal train tire or cuz every aunt and uncle keeps poking me at every wedding saying when will it be ur turn(u can also poke them at every funeral and ask when it will be their turn) or the very famous one Age isn't on my side(cut that bullshit out,i believe Gods time is the best bcos sometimes sis Kate will get married to brother John and realize she married fine man,EXQUISITE TROUBLE)...I have written all of these to write this in as much as the latest fad in Nigeria is marriage we should take time out and really access our priorities....
P.S I absolutely adore weddings and cant wait for the day i will come in for my second appearance with the polo and mr capable on the mic stand with my all time favorites "FEELING IT" and "OMOGE I DON FALL IN LOVE"(Banky Were(mad man) as my papa thought that was what the W stood for..lwkmd
