AND THE NOMINEES ARE-FUTURE AWARDS
THE BIGGEST PRIZE: Genevieve Nnaji, Don Jazzy, 8 others for The Future Awards Young Person of the Year!
The Central Working Committee for Nigeria’s most respected youth event, The Future Awards, has decided to unveil the long list for the biggest award, Young Person of the Year, one week before schedule!
“We are very excited by what we have come up with this year – so excited that we have 10 names on the list this rather than the usual 8,” says Shade Ladipo, a member of the committee. “And we thought we should share that excitement!”
All the nominees for Young Person of the Year have been taken out of the various categories as always and identified as trailblazing role models for young Nigerians,” Ladipo said. “They are all winners, and so they will all be given plaques like last year. Also, they will not go through the 4 stages of judging for the awards, only one stage for voting and one stage for judging since all of them are finalists and will be so recognized at the awards.

ONLY MC WITH AN MSC!!!
A very big Congratulations to Naetochukwu Chikwe on his graduation with an MSc in Energy Economy from the University Of Dundee, Scotland, one of the leading energy schools in the world...A successful artist studying is not something that is common in the entertainment industry and he serves as a very great example to us all.Naeto C’s sophomore album Super C Season is scheduled for release in December.
SUPER FALCONS AND NFF
The Super Falcons, won the 2010 CAF Women's Championship that held in South Africa and returned home in high spirits only to be welcomed home by a truck that is being used to carry Mmeee(ram),it is very appauling, this women worked their asses off and did the country proud and what the NFF deemed fit to carry them was with a truck lasan lasan(ordinary)The Nigerian football association is full of fellows with misplaced priorities,i still cant get over the fact that they used a truck i dont know whether they thought by putting Coca-cola banner they would beautify it...Rubbish and nonsense..Pls share your thoughts
THUS SAYETH DORA AKUNYILI
"It is very offensive to call Nigeria ‘Naija’. We are making plans to write companies to stop using the word Naija. I have heard that name Naija in adverts. I want them to go back and remove that word. If anybody says this is Naija, ask the person, 'Where is Naija?' We have to stop this word because it is catching up with the young. If we don't put a stop to its usage now, it will continue to project us wrongly.” - Minister of Information and Communication, Prof. Dora Akunyili.
At first when i heard this statement i thought it was a joke until i finally read it,Nigeria is a democratic nation and when last i checked Democracy is a government of the people,by the people and for the people,it is my country as well as it is hers
i do not see any reason why aunty Dora will tell me what to call my country..Its either one of this two
a. Work has finished in the ministry of information and communication.
OR
b.She just wants to talk.
So a company like NIGEZIE should now be called Nigeria, or Etisalat should now be 080Nigeraa(OFF POINT)i dont understand whether they dont get that it all adds to who we as Nigerians as....As much as aunt Dora doesn't like it,i will say it I AM PROUD TO BE NAIJA!!! ROGER THAT!!! What are your thoughts on this

THE KARDASHIANS
This is funny as citizens of one country are fighting for wage increment, citizens of another are creating credit cards..The Kardashians have decided to create their own credit card,"The Kardashian prepaid debit MasterCard" costs $99.95 for a year and $59.95 for six months.
I can bet my last dollar that people are already booking this card...But i really dont know what to call it or what do you think?
THIS IS AMAZING
I really want to understand something, didn't they NLC just go one strike because the govt refused to increase their wages and now Goodluck Jonathan is saying he is investing 30billion naira in the"entertainment industry" i dont get it,people are living below a dollar a day and this man has come out to say he is investing in the entertainment industry. Maybe i havent been updated but i dont know when Silverbird group became the entertainment industry of Nigeria, am very baffled, people are suffering, dying and he is investing in the tallest building in Africa..Later they will say they are working together for our good...Nigeria on the average should make 26.25 trillion naira from oil and we are approximately 150million people, doing maths sharply thats about 597,000 for each Nigeria from oil alone every month minus your normal earnings....This is just amazing..Goodluck Jonathan

STATE OF EMERGENCY-FELA DUROTOYE'S CALL TO SAVE NIGERIAN SCHOOLS
SHOCKING AND APPALLING STATISTICS! “By 2006 87% of children that sat for NECO and WAEC exams failed. By 2007 it had grown to 89%. Well, the last results that just came out, for the first time in Nigeria, 98% of the children failed math and English. 98% of every hundred children that sat for the exams that had dreams of becoming something, only two of them passed. This is a nation that the official language is in English, it is not Pidgin English; and 98% of our children could not pass that language. How can we build managers of the future if the future cannot read and write? You’ve got dreams of companies you want to own, those great multinationals. Well tell me where are you going to get your staff from if 98 of every 100 children you will need to hire cannot pass? Don’t you understand? Where are you going to get your customers from when the average income of the people that will need to be your customers will probably be between 0 and 25,000 Naira? Why do I say so? The more you learn, the more your earn. . . .” ~Fela Durotoye
