The Nigerian film industry is going places and is not resting in its bid to becoming the best,in the past few weeks we have had world class premiers which include IJE(The Journey),Holding Hope,Bursting out to mention a few.... Another star studded movie "BENT ARROW" featuring Joke Silva, Olu Jacobs, Stella Damasus, Enebeli Elebuwa, Desmond Elliot, Ngozi Ezeonu, Omoni Oboli etc. is set to premier at the Silverbird Entertainment Centre, Abuja on 9th of September, 2010.

Directed by Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen and produced by Isang Ubong-Awah, Bent Arrows’ centers on the human consequences of sexual abuse, betrayal, undue parental control and the male child syndrome on both the society, and specifically, on young girls.

For the first time in the history of Nollywood an independent soundtrack album was produced for a movie, it was produced by Nigeria’s foremost music producer, Cobhams Asuquo with different genres of music and featured notable Nigerian singers like Styl Plus, the Rooftop MCs, Nikki Laoye, Stella Damasus etc. the 7 track album has songs like A Brighter Day Will Come, Loved From the Start, Bent Arrow (a ballad) and so many more.

Bent Arrows was post-produced in South Africa to bring the work to international standards. The Bent Arrows movie and the Bent Arrows soundtrack album was funded by Alphabridges Limited presently managed by Isang Ubong-Awah.

BREAKING NEWS...TERRY G IN CAR ACCIDENT

We thank God that Terry G(THE GINGER UR SWAGGER MASTER IS ALIVE AND RESPONDING TO TREATMENT)after a nasty accident that left his car badly damaged yesterday the 5th of September 2010.

The singer-producer was on his way home, after hanging out with friends in Ikeja, Lagos, when he ran into the road demarcation around Chemiron, close to Sunday Market, in Ogba.


‘The car is gone’ our source says. ‘And Terry is in the hospital responding to treatment’.

No word yet on where he’s being treated as his mobile phone is off,and although his manager assures ‘everything is under control’; we have cause to worry because he is either unwilling to offer details on the singer’s whereabouts, or he just doesn’t have the details.

Two members of House of Ginjah who were riding with him are also believed to be undergoing treatment.

The car- A Toyota Camry – is now lying at the office of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).

2FACE IN THE MTN PROJECT FAME HOUSE

This is coming a bit late and we are sorry....But here goes...Nigerian superstar, 2Face Idibia is the next celebrity to grace the third season of MTN Project Fame West Africa. The talented music export will join the list of recording artistes that have featured in Project Fame including Asa, Samini, Yinka Davies and Onyeka Onwenu.

2Face is visited the contestants in the Performance Academy on Thursday, September 2, during his visit he mentored the contestants as well as motivated and rehearse d with them. Being one of Nigeria’s most successful recording artistes, 2Face Idibia possesses a wealth of experience that only a select few can claim, with such experience under his belt, he was the appropriate artiste to motivate and mentor the contestants into becoming better performers and recording artistes.

And on Saturday, September 4(today), he will have the honour of being a guest/celebrity judge on the show. As the contestants will be performing most of his hit tracks such as African Queen, Only Me, True Love, amongst others, he will be on hand to assess, evaluate and criticize their performance. After their performances he will end a show by performing for the millions of Project Fame fans who will no doubt be watching the show.

2Face Idibia, was part of the R and B group, Plantashun Boyz that broke into the industry in the late 90’s. One of the earliest hits they featured on was “Omode Meta Sere” by Tony Tetuila. Based on the popularity of the song and the success of their debut album, they became one of Nigeria’s talented acts. The group which consisted of Black Face, Faze and 2Face later went their separate ways a few years later.

In 2004, 2Face Idibia, released his debut album “Face to Face”. The album was a success and boasted of major hits such as the classic African Queen and Mfana Ibaga. As a result of the runaway success of the album he won the Best African Act in the MTV Europe Awards 2005 making him the first among his contemporaries to win a major international award. So successful was he that he was given a Special Recognition Award at the maiden edition of the Hip Hop World Awards in 2006, a rarity for an artiste who had just released his first album.

Despite the catastrophic fire incident on Sunday, August 22, 2010, the organizers of Project Fame have insisted that “the show goes on”, and true to their words, the show continued with Helen and Vwede leaving the academy last Saturday. Seven days after the inferno, the PFWA recording went on unperturbed with veteran singer- song writer Onyeka Onwenu joining the judges and contestants to deliver one of this season’s most memorable episodes yet
