Anyways Ashlee Simpson has split from her husband of two and a half years and has filed for divorce.The singer 26 married Pete Wentz 31 in May 2008 and they have two-year-old son Bronx Mowgli together.
Ashlee cited 'irreconcilable differences' in the documents filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday and TMZ have reported that Ashlee is seeking joint legal custody and primary physical custody of their toddler and has also requested that Pete be granted visitation rights.
She is also asking for spousal and child support.
In a statement to Mail Online the couple said: 'After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to file for divorce'.
"We remain friends and deeply committed and loving parents to our son Bronx, whose happiness and well-being remains our No. 1 priority.We ask that everyone honour our privacy as we navigate this next phase of our lives."
The court papers were signed on Monday by Simpson-Wentz who took her husband's last name but she is now seeking to go back to her maiden name.
True to their statement the couple were pictured holding hands and seemed to be on great terms over the weekend as they spent time together as a family with Bronx.
