Y! TV has announced that on Rubbin' Minds this Sunday 11-9-2011, it will be having
an exclusive hour long interview with The Future Awards 2011 'Young Person
of the Year', Nnaemeka Ikegwuonu.
Ikegwuonu is an Agriculture Advocate, a Rolex Laureate and an Ashoka
Fellow. The 28 year old from Nkwerre in Imo State is also the founder of
the Smallholders Foundation which he established in 2003. He also
organises a radio outreach programme which educates rural farmers with
over 250,000 listeners in seven Local Government Areas in Imo State.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and International Studies as
well as a Masters in Cooperation and Development. Apart from his Rolex
Award for Excellence, Ikeagwuonu is also a recipient of the World
Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) Awards. In 2010, he was a speaker
at the Volkswagen Foundation's 'Our Common Future' forum as well as at the
United
Nations High Level Summit on Biodiversity and he just recently returned
from the 2011 'One Young World Summit' held in Zurich, Switzerland.
The interview will not only chronicle his achievements with the
Smallholders Foundation, it will also take a peek into his childhood, how
he got into Agriculture, and his plans for the future while viewers will
also get to see the fun side of this young leader and his life outside his
career. You'll
