FEMI FANI KAYODE FINALLY SPEAKS OUT
The former S.A to ex president Obasanjo, Femi Fani Kayode, took to his facebook page to air his view on the on going subsidy crisis. He blamed the current minister of Finance Prof. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala for the crisis.
Read what he had to say...........
"In my view Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is the problem. She is the architect of this policy. She serves the interests of the IMF and the World Bank more than she does the interests of the Nigerian people. That has always been the case but OBJ controlled her with a firm hand when we were in power and he used her to secure a good deal for us on the foreign debt issue because she knew the system. If the World Bank asks her to jump she will ask ''how high''? This is the woman that is virtually our Prime Minister today. No wonder we are in trouble. People like this have very little feeling for the masses and they cannot empathize with their pain. Even the traditional politicians empathize more with the ordinary people because they have to interact with them on a daily basis but these so-called technocrats do not and they do not really care. All they care and think about is the full implementation of the economic prescriptions of the IMF and the World Bank and they don't care how painful and drastic the implementation of those prescriptions are. I have tremendous respect for Ngozi as a person and frankly I happen to actually like her because she is civilized, well-bred, exceptionally intelligent, warm and affable.
However we have a completely different world-view. Her world-view is that the ''Third World'' should live at the behest and by the grace of the Bretton Woods monetary institutions and she believes in a fully globalized world where the second slavery (i.e. international debt) holds sway and keeps the poorer nations of the world in their proper place. My view is that nations were not created to be broken down into vassal states which are remote-controlled, punished, enslaved and impoverished by a few greedy international bankers that run the IMF and the World Bank.
I do not trust these foreign international monetary institutions and those that work for them and my vast knowledge of history shows me that wherever they go in the world they only spread misery, poverty, unreasonable conditionals, misery and wickedness. Their yoke is heavy and they are simply tools of oppression that are firmly in the control of all-mighty America and western Europe. These are the forces and the people that are causing GEJ to derail. He should stand up to them and he should not give in to their intimidation and threats. He has nothing to fear from them because the western world itself is now going through it's own major financial crisis and it is crumbling. Nigeria is big enough and strong enough to face them down no matter what and chart her own course. What they are using him to do is to impoverish the Nigerian people, weaken them and bring them down to their knees. They did the same in South America through the 80's and the 90's and they are still doing it in Africa. Even the nation of Ghana, which has a far more stable and prosperous economy than Nigeria today and which has just discovered oil, was forced by this hidden hand that controls their government to remove their own oil subsidy on xmas day of all days. What a terrible xmas gift to the Ghanian people. Since then prices for virtually everything in Ghana has doubled. And we can be rest assured that after the trickle down effect sets in we should expect the same in Nigeria- everything will double or triple in price including food, transport, diesel, kerosene, petrol, commodities, the general cost of living etc. This is unnecessary, unfair, wrong and exceptionally callous."
I agree with him
INDEFINITE STIKE COMMENCES ON THE 9TH OF JAN 2012
Nigeria Labor Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union of Nigeria (TUC), declared that workers will begin an indefinite nationwide strike on Monday January 9th, if Government does not reverse its sudden decision to remove fuel subsidy.
My advice; stock up on food, and do all the things you need to do to be comfortable when this strike commences and to Nigerians living abroad that came home for holidays you might consider going back before Monday oh! because i hear everywhere would be closed, airports, seaports.
The government hasn't seen anything yet

ASHTON KUTCHER ISNT HOSTING PUNK'D ANYMORE
‘Punk’d‘ is set to come back this year, after a four year break but without the show’s creator Ashton Kutcher.
In September 2011, media reports said Justin Bieber would take over from Kutcher but it seems like the show producers have opened the show’s anchoring to a number of other celebs too and so from March 19, celebs like Miley Cyrus, Kellan Lutz, Bam Margera will also host the show

Pink Pearl Foundation and Oaken Events Rekindles the Spirit of Giving
In the usual spirit of sharing love of the season, Pink Pearl Foundation with support from Oaken Events recently gave out items to 300 children from different orphanages around Lagos.
The event, tagged ‘December Giveaway’ was hosted at the Kings College Annex, Victoria Island, Lagos, held on the 31st December 2011 and featured Children from different motherless babies home and correctional facilities such as Special Correctional Centre for Boys Oregun, Children Centre, Idi Araba, Girls Centre, Idi Araba and Girls Remand Home, Idi Araba.
“We planned this event to reach out to young ones who are too often forgotten this season”, said Ayiri Oladunmoye(CEO Oaken Events). “A lot of us connect and share love with our family and friends but do not remember to spread the love to people who may not enjoy these privileges. In addition to reaching out directly, we also used the event to encourage the spirit of giving.”
One of the children, Seun Ayodele, said: I am very happy about today. We had enough to eat, danced and enjoyed ourselves. We even got a lot of gifts to take home. I am very grateful to the organisers and hope more people will help us and other children like us.
“Today was yet another eye opener for me and a lot of people who came out,” noted Patron of the Pink Pearl Foundation Orode Jade Okpu in a post event interview. “Some kids came with no shoes and left with new pairs. We should be grateful for what we have, because the things we take for granted are dreams for some others.”
The event which was supported and attended by the First Lady of Delta State, Mrs Roli Uduaghan, the First Lady of Lagos State, Mrs Abimbola Fashola was also sponsored by Crystal Party Solutions. Other attendees included OC Ukeje and Ajegunle Ghetto Soldier, Daddy Showkey.

OKONJO-IWEALA DID NOT THREATEN TO RESIGN ...FUEL SUBSIDY IS A GOVERNMENT, NOT A PERSONAL DECISION---FEDERAL MINISTRY OF FINANCE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OKONJO-IWEALA DID NOT THREATEN TO RESIGN
...FUEL SUBSIDY IS A GOVERNMENT, NOT A PERSONAL DECISION
It has come to our notice that a well coordinated campaign of calumny against the Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, founded on outright lies and despicable distortions is being executed by cowardly persons hiding behind the ongoing controversy over the government’s decision to deregulate the petroleum sector.
For obvious reasons, the faceless campaigners have elected to tell their lies online because the normal journalistic principles of facts and balanced reporting are generally absent there.
For instance, we have received numerous enquiries regarding an alleged threat by the Coordinating Minister to resign if the government goes back on its decision to end the fuel subsidies. The threat was supposedly made during the emergency Federal Executive Council meeting which held yesterday.
This speculation, like numerous others is absolutely false. DR OKONJO-IWEALA WAS NOT AT THE MEETING BECAUSE SHE WAS OUT OF THE COUNTRY WHEN IT WAS GOING ON. In other words, they are saying that she made a threat at a meeting that she did not attend. She made no such threat physically or through any other means. She had no reason to.
The agenda behind the alleged threat and similar stories is obvious: to inspire public hatred and odium against her person by manipulating public opinion so that she is seen as the sole person pushing for the removal of subsidies.
Their calculation is that Nigerians are so angry and so gullible that they will believe anything if the lies are supported with manufactured “facts”. But we believe that fair minded Nigerians are not fools.
It is clear that governments and certainly the Jonathan administration do not work in the manner that the peddlers of falsehood are saying. It is not only naive but also highly disrespectful to the President and the government as a whole to suggest that the entire decision making machinery of government is the sole preserve of any official.
We urge the media and the Nigerian public to ignore the antics of people who obviously believe that Nigerians are fools.
For the avoidance of doubt, Dr Okonjo-Iweala supports the decision on fuel subsidy removal because she believes that ending the subsidies will drastically reduce corruption in the downstream sector.
Deregulation will also help to end the waivers enjoyed by powerful cabals at the expense of the Nigerian people. In addition, the vast majority of Nigerians will also gain as the proceeds will be redirected into safety nets, other identifiable social interventions as well as provision of sorely needed infrastructure projects nationwide.
Thank you.

The Future Awards Symposium for Young & Emerging Leaders Postponed Due to National Labour Strike on Fuel Subsidy Removal … new date to be announced shortly
The Central Working Committee (CWC) of Nigeria Symposium for Young & Emerging Leaders has announced the postponement of the Symposium - it will no longer hold on 11 and 12 January 2012.
The postponement is due to the nationwide strike called by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to protest the recent removal of fuel subsidy, as the protest is scheduled to begin on January 9, which is just two days to the symposium.
“While we hope this matter is quickly resolved in a manner that is acceptable to the Nigerian people, we think in fact that this moment in our national life is very instructive as it speaks directly to the questions that this symposium seeks to answer,” says Chude Jideonwo, Executive Director of The Future Project. “It will give some clarity and urgency to the issues that we are addressing, giving us a useful case study for a new generation of leaders.”
The Symposium will still hold in the first quarter of 2012, and the new date will be announced shortly.
“I look forward to this important and impactful conversation with the new generation of Nigerian leaders; it is now an imperative,” said Obiageli Ezekwesili, the World Bank Vice-President for Africa, who is the Headline Speaker.

PROTESTER KILLED AND WHAT JONATHAN IS YARNING
This is very sad, very very.Yesterday Jan 3, 2012, police shot and killed a youth protester in Ilorin, Seyi Bolaji who was part of the nationwide protest on the fuel subsidy.
Then Labaran Maku minister of info went on air to claim NO ONE DIED during Ilorin protest, when photographs came out they sent "PAID AGENTS" on Social Media to claim photograph of KILLED NIGERIAN was FAKE.
Now that it is confirmed a protester was indeed killed by policemen during Ilorin protest, Labaran Maku is claiming the protester was killed by a MOB.
My question is which mob killed who, everyone that was protesting was protesting for the removal so how can everyone in agreement suddenly turn and kill their own?
When i said it during elections that Jonathan wasnt the best leader for Nigeria people were saying his a Christian, he has the fear of God, you can see the fear now abi. Sometimes we can be too sentimental and not look at things rightly
How can you just be lying anyhow to the people, you said April 1st now it turned to Jan 1st, look at the hardship people are going through and you say its for the betterment of the nation.
You say Ghanians arent complaining about their fuel subsidy removal, how would they, there is constant light and water, basic amenities, how can Nigeria an oil producing state even the no 10 largest producer in the world be importing crude oil and they say the want to improve our lives.#yeye dey smell
Jonathan would allocate 335million for his kitchen budget and we dey siddon dey look, was it not this same fellow that wanted to approve 50billion to celebrate Nigeria at 50, and did a cake worth millions, why wasnt that money given to orphanages or used to do something sensible? Jonathan is not ready for any leadership position, all his life he has had leadership thrust on him he wasnt ready, this man needs to be shown the way out abeg.
I would still stand by my decision that Ribadu or Buhari would have been the best people for this position you could see what they have done in their various capacities in the past, no one is perfect but these two ha some sense f leadership not some plantain boy from the backside of Bayelsa whose motto is "i never had shoes" now go and check his cupboard.
It is so sad that what The Zik's, Obafemi Awolowo's labored for will be in vain, lets keep praying for this country because truth be told its prayers that has been keeping us
